Tim Parker is a retired teacher, journalist, and former President of NEA-Alaska, the state’s largest labor union. Tim and his wife, Tracey, have raised a family and lived in west Fairbanks for more than 30 years. His priorities include rebuilding west Fairbanks’ infrastructure, fully funding our education system starting at pre-K through university, and supporting Alaska’s public employees by providing them with a pension that won’t leave them penniless in retirement. Tim’s experience as president of NEA-Alaska has provided him with an extensive knowledge of the priorities of working people in Fairbanks, and a penchant for coalition building and collaborative leadership. Tim is an independent Alaskan and is running as a nonpartisan to bring a policy-first approach to the legislature.
