Issues

Education

Ensuring equal access to quality education is a top priority, particularly for families with Special Education needs. By implementing transparent resource-sharing policies, prioritizing community input, and fostering collaboration between schools, the aim is to create an inclusive educational environment that tailors facilities to diverse learning needs and adapts policies based on evolving trends for the benefit of all students.

Charter Schools

Non-profit charter public schools in LAUSD play a crucial role in delivering education to high-needs students by offering alternative and specialized programs. These schools often have more flexibility in curriculum design and operational strategies, allowing them to address specific educational needs. Charter schools can provide innovative approaches, smaller class sizes, and tailored support systems, aiming to improve outcomes for students facing socio-economic challenges. While oversight is maintained by LAUSD, the non-profit model enables community engagement and fosters diverse educational options, contributing to a more responsive and adaptable education system for high-needs students in Los Angeles.

Teacher Support and Professional Development

Empowering educators and staff through essential resources, training, and professional development is a top priority. Collaborating with organizations like CSEA,SEIU, City Council and your local Chamber of commerce ensures the promotion of fair working conditions. Establishing robust connections with the local community is vital, fostering an understanding of their needs and concerns. Inclusive decision-making processes involve active participation from parents, students, and other stakeholders, strengthening the educational community as a whole.

My commitment to this district is rooted in the belief that every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves a high-quality education that equips them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in life. I believe that we need to invest in our schools, our teachers, and our students. We must ensure that our schools are safe and welcoming environments for all children and that our educators have the resources and support they need to excel.
