About me

My name is Andrew Bennett and I am running for the State House of Representatives in District 85 as an Independent candidate. I work as a Data Analyst, but my true passion lies in education. With both my parents being public school teachers, I understand the importance of investing in local public education and ensuring that our teachers and support staff are properly compensated. As a young candidate at the age of 26, I also understand the needs and urgency of the younger generation, which is why I am committed to being an elected official that truly represents and advocates for their interests. Additionally, I aim to improve the quality of life for all Louisianans by reducing the cost of living through transferring utilities and home insurance to the public sector, allowing individuals to have a say in how much they spend on these essential services. Finally, I believe in electoral reform and the need for public campaign financing to eradicate corruption and the undue influence of big-money donors in our government. On a personal note, I have a fun fact to share - I am the proud owner of two orange cats named Zuko and Chester, although I would love to have ten more if my girlfriend would allow it.
