Why I'm Running for City Council
My name is Belinda Gerry, and I am running for the position of City Council in At-large as a member of the Independent party. As a current Auburn City Councilor, At-large, and a Maine Notary Public, I have the necessary experience and commitment to serve my community effectively.
One fun fact about me is that I enjoy going on walks with my dog Pep E. Whenever the weather is good, it's a delight to explore the outdoors together. Additionally, I have a passion for gardening, maintaining plots in my city's community gardens and at home. This allows me to connect with fellow gardeners, tend to plants, and I even share my harvested vegetables with others.
Throughout my political journey, I have served multiple terms as an Auburn State Representative and as a City Councilor. Currently, I am actively involved in several committees, including the Auburn Housing Authority Board, Lewiston/Auburn Transit Committee, Androscoggin County Budget Committee, Auburn Recreation Committee, Auburn Community Development Block Grant Committee, Auburn Age-Friendly Committee. Furthermore, I contribute to the well-being of senior citizens by volunteering in my city's Grab and Go Grocery program, delivering groceries to them on a weekly basis.
What sets me apart is my genuine caring nature for the unknown. I am committed to addressing the concerns and needs of all community members, regardless of their background or circumstance. By electing me, the community will benefit from my experience, dedication, and compassionate approach to public service.
