Issues

Path to home ownership

Supports having more pathways to home ownership so we have more homeowners and affordable housing.

Prioritize safe streets

We need to have new rules and regulations so we can have safer streets. Most private roads need to be paved for public safety and people can't always afford to pay out of pocket to have their streets paved, but the city collects a lot of money in taxes so they should pay to have the streets paved.

Encouraging energy efficiency and conservation initiatives

We need to adopt the stretch code and enforce all new building are built to the new green standards, not gas, or oil, but all electric. We need to set goals to reduce carbon emissions, and have more infrastructure for EV charging. We need to have solar on all city and government buildings.

About me

My name is Feanna Jattan-Singh and I am running for City Council in District 3 as an Independent candidate. As a Real Estate Agent, I have a deep understanding of the importance of housing and homeownership. I have a fun fact about myself - I love to grow vegetables in my garden, although most of it ends up being enjoyed by birds, bunnies, and chipmunks. However, I have a goal to one day grow all my own food. Before becoming a real estate agent, I worked as a substitute teacher for 10 years and have been a proud resident of Worcester for 13 years. It was my concern for the safety of children in my neighborhood that motivated me to run for office. I want to ensure safer streets for all, whether it's walking, biking, or other forms of mobility. Additionally, I am passionate about promoting energy efficiency and conservation initiatives, including community-based renewable energy. I believe in adopting green standards for new buildings, setting goals to reduce carbon emissions, and expanding infrastructure for electric vehicles. Together, we can make a positive impact on our city and prioritize the needs of our community.

Past Experience

After working for 10 years as a substitute teacher, also being the mom of 4 children and living in Worcester for 13 years, I was tired of seeing children walking in a dangerous road in my neighborhood to get to the local elementary school. So, I decided to do something, to run for office, so we can not only get a sidewalk for Sunderland road, but to have safe walking, biking, and all mobility access around our city.
