"Powell To The Powell: Building a Better Oxford for All Residents"
I am running for City Council because I believe in making a positive impact on my community.
With a background as a consultant and startup founder, I have a diverse skillset that has prepared me for this position.
**In my free time, I enjoy getting involved locally in the community.** I am proud to be a Board Member of Treasures of Joy, a nonprofit that operates a transitional home called Hope House for women recovering from addiction.
Additionally, I am an active participant in the Oxford Community Action Network (OxCAN), contributing to citizen-driven projects, including community clean-ups and greenway projects.
**My experience includes working in federal policy.** I co-founded Climate Changemakers, an advocacy group supporting national climate candidates and policies.
Having gained an understanding of city hall and municipal government through my work with the local newspaper, The Oxford Ledger, I am motivated to implement positive change.
My campaign focuses on a strategic plan to make Oxford a great place to live, work, and play.
These are just a few examples of the initiatives I aim to tackle to improve the quality of life for all residents.
I believe it is essential to address median incomes, job growth, recreation, and housing opportunities, while also taking advantage of the unprecedented federal funding for local communities.
