A statewide leader tasked with tackling the issue of PFAs, Pluecker has become one of Augusta's most successful legislators by working above party lines, seeing 11 bills become law in 2021. He has also worked to see another nine bills become law in 2022 that were drafted in collaboration with local residents. Before entering the State House in 2018, Pluecker was an organic farmer and leader at First Universalist Church in Rockland.
