Past Experience

Amira is a mother, a wife, and an experienced community financial professional. She is the ONLY candidate running for Treasurer with the experience necessary for this position. Amira is married to her husband of 5 years, Alex. Together they have one son, Rami, who is 1 year old. They are also pet parents to their dog Gizmo, who is 11 years old. Amira holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Management from the University of Michigan - Dearborn (GO BLUE!). She brings over 4 years of experience in banking to the table in her service as a Community Banker at DFCU Financial and Huntington Bank. Most recently, Amira was employed for 6 years as a Project Manager at MRM/McCann, implementing new processes across the agency, demonstrating strong organizational and financial oversight skills, and gaining years of training experience with great interpersonal skills.

My Top Issues

Enhancing transparency and accountability

My office and I will be readily available to meet with residents and address any issues that arise.

Advocating for lower taxes and reducing the tax burden on businesses and residents

We already pay more than our fair share of taxes, No New City Taxes.
