Past Experience
Ben Schlipf for Penncrest School Board – Leadership, Accountability, and Student Success
Hello, I’m Ben Schlipf, a Saegertown High School graduate, small business owner, parent of two Saegertown students, and higher education professional. I’m running for the Penncrest School Board to fill the upcoming vacant seat currently held by Theresa Lugo, to bring a balanced, student-focused approach to decision-making while ensuring transparency.
With a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a career in Human Resources at PennWest University, I have firsthand experience in education, policy, and workforce development. I understand the importance of supporting educators, managing budgets efficiently, and preparing students for success beyond high school—whether in college, trade schools, or the workforce.
As a small business owner, I know what it takes to make strategic decisions and how to provide real-world career insights to students. Through my role as an ACES Business Week volunteer at Saegertown, Cambridge Springs, and Maplewood, I’ve mentored students in leadership, teamwork, and financial literacy, helping them develop essential skills for the future.
My Priorities:
✅ Empowering Students & Teachers – Ensuring they have the tools and resources to thrive.
✅ Workforce & College Readiness – Expanding opportunities in career pathways and technical education.
✅ Community Engagement – Strengthening communication between families, educators, and the board.
I am deeply invested in the success of our students, schools, and community, and I believe my education, experience, and leadership skills make me the right choice for the Penncrest School Board.
I want to be clear: I’m not a politician. I’m not perfect. I’m a parent, a Penncrest graduate, a small business owner, and an education professional who simply wants to see positive change in our schools—for both students and teachers.
Like many parents, I see the challenges our schools face. I hear the concerns of families, teachers, and community members who want stronger academic opportunities, better support for educators, and more transparency in decision-making. That’s why I’m stepping up—not to play politics, but to make a real difference.
Why I’m Running:
📚 For Students – They deserve a quality education that prepares them for college, careers, and life.
👩🏫 For Teachers – They need support, resources, and respect to do their jobs effectively.
💡 For Our Community – Schools should be a collaborative effort where parents, teachers, and board members work together for the best outcomes.
I won’t claim to have all the answers, but I promise to listen, learn, and fight for what’s best for our schools. If you believe in positive change, I’d love to have your support!
Let’s work together to build a stronger future for our schools!
