Fun Fact
I take a holistic approach to health and love prioritizing health and fitness. I also love meditating, long nature walks, and tea.
Past Experience
As a student at Purchase Line, I faced behavioral challenges, ADHD, chronic absenteeism, and poor academic performance. I was referred to multiple alternative education programs that made me feel socially isolated, left behind, and overlooked.
Many students today are still labeled as “at-risk,” but I believe that term is both patronizing and stigmatizing. Students are students and every child deserves the chance to succeed emotionally, academically, and socially, no matter their background or struggles.
I may not have professional titles or academic honors, but I bring a unique perspective to the table. I’ve lived what many students are going through right now, and I understand the trials and tribulations they face. I’m running to be a loud, visible voice for those who feel unheard.
My Top Issues
Healthy living educational programs
I believe we should invest in programs that teach students how to manage their mental health, emotions, and behavior. These are skills they will need to thrive in the real world.
Opposing censorship and supporting platforms for diverse perspectives
I believe that every member of the community deserves to express their opinions even if they are critical of the board and its current policies. Public Meetings have time constraints so thats why I believe we should do this through a district social media page thats established as a public forum. Public Meetings and platforms for dialogue should also be accessible to everyone because some individuals simply don't have the time, means or resources to utilize them.
Supporting accommodations for people with disabilities
I believe our school infrastructure should support every student, including those who require additional accommodations. This could include incorporating sensory rooms, single-occupancy Restrooms for students, and other inclusive spaces that meet a variety of needs.
