Fun Fact

Something fun about me is that I love being outdoors — whether it’s hunting, shooting, or hiking. I also have a lifelong curiosity and a love for problem solving, which usually means I’m taking things apart just to see how they work. Most importantly, I enjoy doing all of this while spending time with my family. (And as a side note, I also make homemade jerky, which has become a bit of a tradition among friends and family.)

Past Experience

I have lived in Batavia Township my entire life, which gives me a deep connection to our community, its history, and its challenges. I am also an Iraq War veteran, where I learned the importance of service, leadership, and accountability — values I carry with me every day. I work at one of the few grocery stores near the Batavia–Pierce Township border, which allows me to interact with many residents from Batavia Township on a daily basis. This experience keeps me closely connected to the needs, concerns, and values of the people I want to serve. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand the effects of rapid development — from farmland disappearing to added pressure on our infrastructure and services. My experiences have taught me that growth must be managed responsibly, with thoughtful planning and community input. I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I am committed to listening, working collaboratively, and putting the long-term interests of Batavia Township first. My military service, lifelong roots here, and daily connection with residents prepare me to serve effectively as Township Trustee.

My Top Issues

Sustainable land use practices

I chose sustainable land use practices because once farmland and open space are gone, they’re gone forever. Thoughtful planning today will ensure we preserve our rural character and natural resources while still meeting the needs of a growing community.

Community involvement in decision-making

I believe the people of Batavia Township should have a stronger voice in shaping our future. Community involvement in decision making ensures growth and policies reflect the values and needs of the residents who live here.

Promoting transparency in government decision-making

I believe transparency builds trust. Promoting openness in government decision-making ensures residents know what’s happening, why it’s happening, and how it affects their community.
