Fun Fact
In my free time I like to cook and spend time walking my dogs in our beautiful parks. I also enjoy spending time with my 95 year old mother and other members of my family. I have travelled extensively - being of Greek background my favorite country is Greece, although there isn't one country I have visited that I wouldn't return to. I love Greenwich in the summer, especially Island Beach, which I literally grew up on.
Past Experience
Have been on the BET for 8 years, 6 years in leadership positions. Understand the budget and budgeting process. Have delivered budgets that provide for necessary infrastructure and operating expenses. Fierce opponent of excessive spending on projects. Can justify the decisions made in financing budgets over the last 6 years.
My Top Issues
Promoting efficiency and accountability in government spending
I have consistently advocated for a comprehensive review of town services to ensure fiscal responsibility and optimization of resource allocation. I have enhanced accountability by emphasizing transparency in financial decisions, including criticizing the lack of proper procedure in the Greenwich Comptroller search to uphold the trust of taxpayers.
Properly fund emergency services
I have always supported necessary funding for police and fire emergency services but recognize that everything cannot be funded at once.
Invest in local public education
I have always supported top level funding of our schools as evidenced by the school budgets that have been funded, which is the highest per pupil spending in the state as compared to peer school districts. I have advocated for infrastructure spending that reflects a common-sense approach that avoids over-building.
