The House-less

We can build a transitional housing through tiny villages. Create a urban center where they can shower use the bathroom eat and do laundry. After 2 years in transitional living tiny village of permanent housing.

Self Governed Utilities

Waterbury has a spring we can tap into and cut out the middle man. In addition everyone in the City of Waterbury will have free wifi that will be laid fiber optics and getting the roads fixed at the same time.


The City of Waterbury will work with the Board of Education grant writer to aquire as many qualified grant federal, state private to subsidize several items. 1. Mandarin, French, Russian, Hindi or Latin. No student will leave high school without a language. 2. Create a EMT program in the high schools. 3. Carpentry class to build and employ juniors and seniors. 4. Create an incentive program to get As from 7 -12 grade. 5. Bring Civics and cursive back in the classroom. 7.Through the Dept of Health Create a doula program where every ppregnant woman will be visited by a Doula.

About me

My name is Karen Jackson and I am running for Mayor of Waterbury as an unaffliated candidate. I am currently a student and in my free time, I enjoy sleeping, reading, fishing, bowling, hiking, and gazing at the water. I also like to waste time playing Uno and taking photographs of waterfalls in the winter and fall to capture the beauty of the seasons. I am a fan of Democracy Now with Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzales and I listen to 99.5 WBAI, 89.5 WPKN, and 94.3 FM when I can. I love watching CSPAN and find it entertaining to observe the people behind the politicians. My past experience in politics includes serving as a City Council member for district 138th in Bridgeport, working in various parent groups within Bridgeport Public Schools, and working in the field of child protection in New York City for nearly 10 years. I also have experience coordinating departments for Tiffany and Company White Plains NY branch . I am passionate about serving the unknown individuals in our community and making a positive impact as Mayor.

Why I'm Running

I am running for the office of Mayor  Waterbury as an unaffiliated candidate because I believe it is time for new leadership and fresh perspectives in our city. As a happily divorced parent of 3 sons, student,  formerly houseless, woman of color I bring a unique perspective to the table. I am passionate about making positive changes in our community. In my free time, I enjoy a variety of activities such as sleeping, reading, fishing, bowling, hiking, and capturing the beauty of nature through photography. I am an avid listener of Democracy Now and 99.5 WBAI, as well as a viewer of Link TV and Free Speech TV, which have helped me develop a deeper understanding of global issues. With my prior experience as a  City of Bridgeport City Council member representing 138th  district; involvement in parent groups within Bridgeport Public Schools, and work in education and child protection, I have a strong background in serving the needs of the community. I believe in the importance of transparency and accountability, and I am dedicated to representing the voices and concerns of the unknown. Together, we can work towards a brighter future for our city.

Past Experience

My prior experience in politics as a City Council member who proudly served district 138th. I held office on varied Parent groups within Bridgeport Public Schools. I worked as a substitute teacher for Bridgeport Public Schools and prior to that I was a Child Protective Specialist II with the City of NY Administration for Children Services or ACS for nearly 10 years. Prior to that I worked as a Table Top Coordinator with 7 departments for Tiffany and Company at the White Plains Branch.

Listen to 99.5 WBAI. Watch Link TV, Free Speech TV. I listen to 89.5 WPKN and 9.43fm when I can hear it. I like visiting water falls in the winter and fall and capture the seasons on camera. Yes I adore photography. I really like watching CSPAN. Your elected officials are boring to watch but it's the people behind the person speaking you should be watching sometimes I catch some hilarious "stuff." CSPANBook etc.
