My Top Issues
Economy
Worcester’s long term financial plan needs to center small businesses. We need to remove red tape, and provide technical and financial assistance to local entrepreneurs.
Infrastructure / Transportation
Vital to the economy, the environment, and resident quality of life, is a fare-free, reliable WRTA with expanded routes and hours. This will create jobs, stimulate the economy, and reduce carbon emissions.
Housing
The cost of living, especially housing, is devastating household budgets. We have to stop building luxury housing and instead invest in rent stabilization, and first time home buyer programs for working and middle class families. I will fight to end the monopoly for utilities like Eversource, National Grid and Spectrum, ensuring competition, accountability, and saving you money.
Education
We have to support our children’s mental health through expanding social emotional learning and access to social workers and clinicians. We need to increase sports, after school, and summer programs for young people. We can keep communities safe by improving community-police relations, and ensuring trust and accountability. Polarized politics won’t keep us safe, coming together will.
Social Services
I’ll work with state partners to stop cuts to senior services like home-care. You deserve quality City services like snow removal, and road repairs. The trash bag fee is a regressive tax and we need a long term plan that is more efficient and saves you money.
