Fun Fact

Students Over Platforms. Leadership Over Politics. I’m not a career politician - I’m a dad, coach, and neighbor who believes our schools should reflect our shared community values: respect, service, and integrity. I’m running because I’ve seen how disconnected some school decisions have become from the people they impact most - students, teachers, staff, and families. My goal is simple: do what’s right, not what’s political.

Past Experience

Hi Neighbors! I’m Mike Procuk - Army veteran, youth sports coach, husband to Jennifer (Greenwood Mill PTO president), dad of twin 5th-graders at GMES, and proud father of a James Wood High graduate. I’m running for the Red Bud seat on the Frederick County School Board because our schools must be powered by people, not politics. What I Believe Service • Integrity • Respect * Students over platforms. Every decision must help kids, teachers, staff, principals and school leadership. * Family partnership. Your voice counts, whether you’re in the bleachers cheering on our teams, at the kitchen table helping with homework, or emailing teachers at midnight. * Smart, future-focused budgets. Invest in instruction, competitive pay and maintenance so today’s kindergarteners benefit through graduation. Why Now? * I’ll deliver results without threatening our staff or dividing our community. Frederick County deserves collaboration, not ultimatums. * I’m not a one term candidate. I am here and I am fully committed to serving this community for as long as they will have me. * Local focus over party labels. At your door I’ll introduce myself as Mike, not as a party brand. This race is about our schools - period. * Every child’s chance to thrive. Safe campuses, rigorous academics and resources that meet every learner where they are and gets them where they want to be. * Real support for teachers and staff. They power student success and deserve respect, pay and training that makes their jobs doable. * Resources, not red tape for principals and school leadership. They must be afforded the freedom to spend time leading, not fighting paperwork. * Parent-powered advocacy. As a dad and daily school-volunteer family, I feel the system’s strengths and its pain points firsthand. How We Win for Kids * Competitive pay to keep great teachers and staff here. * On-time, on-budget construction for the 4th high school and school expansions. * Less red tape so principals and school leadership can lead and teachers and staff can teach. My Community Roots I wasn’t born here, but my family and I are fully invested here, in the hallways, on the fields, and in the stands. I coach baseball, soccer, and basketball, and I still umpire softball and baseball games across the county. Jennifer is at Greenwood Mill nearly every day leading PTO projects, making photo copies and helping out the teachers. Those hours alongside parents, students, teachers, staff and principals have shown us the strong bonds that make Frederick County special and they keep me grounded in what our schools truly need. Together we’ll make our schools places where students thrive, teachers and staff feel valued, principals and school leadership are given the freedom to lead and families know they’re heard. Thanks for being here, let’s get to work! — Mike Service • Integrity • Respect

My Top Issues

Education

Invest in what matters: instruction, competitive pay, and keeping our schools safe and well-maintained through forward-thinking renovations and construction.

Education

It’s time we refocus the conversation on education, not ideology. That means putting our kids first, supporting teachers and keeping politics out of the classroom.

Education

Give educators the tools, respect and freedom they need to lead. That means supporting them, not micromanaging, threatening or burning them out.

Criminal Justice / Public Safety

That means more than just keeping the doors locked and scanning for weapons. It’s about building classrooms that reflect real life, where teachers connect with students and differences aren’t just tolerated, they’re understood. That’s how we help every student prepare for real-world interactions.

Education

Whether it’s college, skilled trades, the military or entrepreneurship; every student deserves real options. We must maximize access to CTE and college prep to ensure every student can pursue their own path.
