Fun Fact

Born in Southern California (Orange County) in 1958. lived in Oregon for 3 years as an adolescent, lived in Montana for 1 year as a young teenager. Married with 4 grown children and 6 grandchildren. 4 of which (teenagers/young adults) are either in California, Arizona, or attending college elsewhere. The particular reason my wife and I relocated to Mooresville in February of 2022, was to experience our youngest grandchildren growing up, they were ages 4 and 2 at the time. We have in the past owned 2 different classic cars, owned 2 Harley Davidson motorcycles with appx 20k miles ridden, we even made the trek to Sturgis SD one year. Also, we are co-owner of a mobile home at a retirement resort on the banks of the Colorado River, and we have had several Sea Doo PWC's over the years (which we left with the adult kids in California). We are now proud owners of a 25' pontoon boat in Lake Norman which is used quite often. Over the past few years Laura and I have worked for the town as Summercamp monitors at the War Memeorial and concession stands at various Mooresville parks. I also help as a volunteer for the MDC and FEEDNC in various capacities. I also drive a commercial vehicle for The Christian Mission, and I serve as COR (Charitable Organization Representative) between FPC Mooresville and Scouting USA. Laura and I are active members at First Presbyterian Church in Mooresville and very firm of our belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Past Experience

At the time of my filing, with the deadline fast approaching, there was only one other candidate listed to be on the ballot. I did not feel they should run un-opposed, it is necessary for voters to have a choice, to have an option to be able to check more than one box. Voter apathy is the real threat to our republic. My work experience is that of a retired mid-level manager in the transportation/logistics industry, I started in 1979 with an entry level position at a regional carrier, then moved on to work for several major LTL carriers as operation specialist and manager. Also worked in the vehicle relocation sector as an operations manager for appx 10 years. I may only have a high school diploma, with limited community college experience. but was recognized by many to have the necessary common sense, intelligence, critical thinking skills, public relations, and commitment to human resources. Many other things have helped advance my career, through many operational training seminars, conferences, workshops that have not only strengthened my operational and logistic aptitude, but to also include educational and coaching skills needed to manage other employees. The majority of my transportation experience was working at major carrier's party to the Nation Master Freight Agreement (NMFA) with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, with myself being involved in management.

My Top Issues

Enhancing transparency and accountability

The voters and other concerned citizens should be able to access all and any relevant records to enhance accountability with our government and its elected officials

Investing in road repairs and maintenance

This may always be an ongoing issue here in Mooresville, as development increases, and we continue to drive on roads that were established 30-40 years ago. Most being controlled by NC state and not by the town, we need individuals that can work with and get expedited results from NCDOT and of course Norfolk Southern.

Increasing affordable housing options

This should always be at the forefront of discussion, the need to get more investment from developers as they apply for rezoning and annexation. Lower income and young family's need the ability to live where they work.

Who I'm Running Against
