Fun Fact
I’m a total goofball. I love to laugh, I’m silly, and I can be clumsy—so if you see me trip over absolutely nothing, just know it’s normal. Life’s too short not to find the joy (and humor) in it.
Past Experience
I’ve spent nearly three decades building the skills and experience needed to serve Martinsville with excellence. My background spans over 20 years in finance, customer service, and government operations, including roles in banking, collections, and administration.
Along the way, I’ve also been a small business owner, giving me firsthand insight into the challenges entrepreneurs face—especially when navigating local tax and licensing processes. I know what it’s like to walk into an office needing answers, only to leave more confused than when you came in. I also know how it feels to face financial struggles and fight to stay afloat. Those experiences shaped my belief that government should meet people where they are, with clarity, compassion, and a genuine desire to help.
From serving individuals one-on-one to managing financial processes with accuracy and accountability, I’ve learned how to balance responsibility with understanding. My life and career have prepared me to modernize services, support both new and established businesses, and ensure fair, consistent, and easy-to-understand practices for every citizen—whether you own a home, run a business, or simply need help understanding your tax bill.
This role is about more than numbers—it’s about people. And I’m ready to bring integrity, innovation, and top-tier customer service to the Commissioner of Revenue’s office from day one.
My Top Issues
Streamlining business licensing and permitting
I believe starting or growing a business in Martinsville should be simple, not stressful. I’ll work to streamline licensing and permitting so entrepreneurs spend less time buried in paperwork and more time building their dreams.
Enhancing services for senior citizens
Our senior citizens have spent their lives contributing to this community, and they deserve services that are clear, accessible, and respectful. I’ll work to ensure they get the guidance and support they need without long waits, confusion, or unnecessary red tape.
Customer Service
Every person who walks into the Commissioner of Revenue’s office should leave feeling heard, helped, and respected. I’m committed to delivering top-tier customer service that treats every citizen like they matter—because they do.
Taxes / Budget
A “No Business Turned Away” culture — helping people fix problems, not turning them away at the door.
Taxes / Budget
If elected, here’s what I’ll fight for: Simplified, online payments — where you can pay taxes, business fees, and licenses all in one place.
