Education I believe parents have the right to know what their children are being taught and to be a part of the decision-making process on the content and curriculum children learn. In short, parents are the primary decision makers in their child’s education. Parents should never be mandated to do anything that goes against their own values and they should have a right to speak publicly against these mandates. Education School policies and programs should be controlled at a local level. When decisions are made closer to those they affect, parents and school leaders can better align. Parents should have a right and a voice in these types of decisions. Education I believe the number one mission in education is to provide academic excellence for all students. They must have an accurate teaching of all subject matters, especially reading, writing and math. Education Emphasis in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) competencies will build interest, increase skills, and foster a life long love of learning in these content areas. Education I believe that parents have the right to choose the best educational setting for their children, have the ability to choose which schools their children attend (i.e. Charter schools, independent study, home schools, etc.). Education Education should prepare our children to compete for 21st century jobs. Career Technical Education (CTE) should be offered to all students. Especially the most vulnerable students should have access to CTE coursework.
