Fun Fact

I enjoy playing golf (at least a few times a year) and enjoy watching my kids participate in their activities. With two sets of twins - there are plenty of activities to attend. You are likely to see me at the baseball field, track and cross country meets, as well as swim meets and dance competitions.

Past Experience

Achievements: I have served on the Spartanburg High School SIC for 2 years, making improvements for the High School. Responsibilities: I have managed budgets, lead people, been responsible for different sized organizations. Skills: I am a personable, logical leader, who focuses on improving processes and driving results.

My Top Issues

Invest in local public education

I want to increase the visibility of actions going on in district 7, before the decisions are made - so there can be more parent and community input.

Early childhood education

As district 7 grows the 4K programs, I want to insure that it is done fairly within the district.

Community involvement in decision-making

I believe that it is important that there be transparency with the community about the projected population growth and how that will affect the growth of schools in district 7. The public should know well in advance if there is going to be a tax referendum to add funding for more school buildings.
