My Top Issues
Inclusive zoning policies
I believe we need to look strongly at our zoning code, ensuring we permit and encourage a housing opportunities diverse enough to meet our populations needs.
Support urban revitalization and redevelopment
I believe strongly that underutilized spaces in our City are a missed economic opportunity and in fact a blight on our neighborhoods. I want to focus on redevelopment of these spaces into community supporting spaces and new opportunities for housing
Balance development with neighborhood preservation
I love our neighborhoods, protecting not just their character, but the people that live within them is paramount.
Economy
We should embrace opportunities to revitalize underutilized shopping centers, transforming them into vibrant, multi-use spaces that better serve the community. By repurposing these properties, we can attract new businesses, create housing opportunities, and foster economic growth while enhancing community spaces.
Housing
I believe that everyone in Fredericksburg deserves a place to call home. This requires a diverse range of housing options to meet the needs of all our families from affordable rentals to homes for first-time buyers, and options for seniors looking to downsize. Housing variety creates vibrant, mixed-income communities, and ensures that Fredericksburg remains a place where families can grow and build their lives, generation after generation.
Economy
We’ll prioritize fiscal responsibility, diversify our economy, and build strong local partnerships. We should leverage alternate revenue streams to maximize tax revenue outside of residential property taxes. .
