Why I’m Running for Office

I’m running to fight for a better quality of life for the residents of the community I love. To me, that means safer streets where children can ride their bikes and neighbors can walk comfortably. It means welcoming parks, well-maintained neighborhoods and a thriving business district where empty storefronts become places to shop, eat and gather. I will fight for responsible spending because every tax dollar should serve a clear purpose. I will push for open communication and meaningful resident involvement because the people who live with City Hall’s decisions deserve a voice in making them. I believe we can uphold community standards while treating people fairly and helping longtime residents who may need support. For more than 45 years, I’ve built businesses, restored buildings and brought people together. I want to put that experience to work here, helping turn our community’s ideas into practical improvements. Keego Harbor is our home. I want every resident to feel heard, feel safe and feel proud of the life we’re building here together. Amir Daiza

About Me

I’m running because Keego Harbor has been part of my life since childhood, and I care deeply about its future. I want residents to feel heard, understand how their tax dollars are spent and have a meaningful voice before decisions are made. I want safer streets for our children, thriving local businesses and fewer empty storefronts. For more than 45 years, I’ve built businesses, restored historic buildings and brought people together. I want to put that experience to work for the community I call home, alongside our city manager, fellow council members and residents. I chose to run for the one-year City Council seat because I want the opportunity to earn your trust through action. That means listening, asking thoughtful questions, spending responsibly and following through. I’m running to help make everyday life better for everyone who calls Keego Harbor home. Amir Daiza
