About Missoula County Clerk and Recorder/Treasurer

The Clerk & Recorder Office is responsible for county accounts payable, payroll, elections and document records/recordings (birth, deaths, mortgages, land transfers, etc.). The office also provides secretarial services for the County Commission. The County Treasurer's office is the collection center for taxes including real estate, personal property and mobile homes. The office also collects various non-tax revenues including business licenses, motor vehicle and driver's licensing fees. The Treasurer makes disbursements of cash to cover bills paid by county warrant, bond payments or remittances to other government agencies for which the county collects monies.
