Why I’m Running for Office

I am running for the Calexico Unified School District Board of Trustees because I believe every student deserves a safe, supportive learning environment, and every family deserves to be heard. After more than eight years of involvement in our schools, I have seen both the challenges our district faces and the opportunities we have to improve. My priorities include addressing chronic absenteeism, strengthening communication between families and schools, expanding educational opportunities, and promoting transparency and accountability. I believe meaningful progress begins with listening, collaboration, and responsible decision-making. My goal is to help build a school district where students, families, educators, and the community work together to create better opportunities for every child.

About Me

I am a mother, psychology professional, and founder of Walking Together, with more than eight years of volunteer involvement in the Calexico Unified School District. Throughout these years, I have worked alongside parents, educators, and community members through school committees, including SSC and ELAC/DELAC, advocating for student well-being, family participation, and safer learning environments. My background in psychology and community service has strengthened my commitment to listening, building connections, and helping families have a meaningful voice in their children’s education.
