Chief Marketing Officer
GoodParty.org is seeking a visionary Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to turn our logo into the symbol of empowered independents and to tell the story of our mission to make people matter more than money in our democracy. You’ll be in charge of positioning GoodParty.org as the tech platform and movement that is democratizing democracy by turning tens of thousands of ordinary people into elected civic heroes who are empowered by cutting-edge technology to run, win and serve their communities, independent of duopoly politics and big-money.
You will oversee brand strategy, content creation, digital campaigns, partnerships and growth hacking to drive adoption of our AI-powered tools, which empower Independent candidates to win and elected officials actually serve their constituents. Your work will connect the majority of Americans who want an alternative to the two major parties with tens of thousands of civic heroes in all 50 states who are putting politics aside to solve society’s biggest problems.
About GoodParty.org:
GoodParty.org is on a mission to make people matter more than money in our democracy by empowering Independent candidates to run, win, and serve. Our AI-powered platform provides free tools to Independent candidates to run their campaigns, connect with voters, and serve their communities effectively.
A majority of eligible voters, including more than half of Millennials and Gen Z, say that neither Republicans nor Democrats represent them. GoodParty.org is the solution. In 2024 we empowered 3,444 Independent candidate wins across 48 states from all across the ideological spectrum. The main things the elected officials we empower have in common is that they prioritize people over parties and community over corporate interests. In 2024, 40.3 million votes (26% of all voters) cast a ballot for our candidate users. We’re not a political party, we’re a platform and a movement to democratize democracy.
Founded by serial entrepreneur Farhad Mohit ($1B+ in exits, including Flipagram/TikTok and Shopzilla), GoodParty.org is building solutions so we can have a truly representative democracy where society’s biggest problems are solved.
What you’ll do:
Build our bright-hearted logo into the brand for empowered Independents and millions of Americans disenfranchised by increasingly divisive politics using organic, guerrilla, and product-based strategies to spread the story and movement.
Iterate on a data-driven, self-improving marketing engine that develops, executes, and and improves GoodParty.org‘s position as the most trusted and effective brand for empowered Independent candidates, elected officials, and voters across the U.S.
Craft stories that inspire action, and motivate everyday leaders to run for office as Independents, equipping them with the education and tools to be successful. Oversee conversion operation for candidates and elected officials, driving adoption of both products by new users.
Promote our suite of products that empower Independent candidates to win and support them as elected officials to truly serve their constituents. Partner with product to align marketing initiatives with product goals by supporting user adoption, retention, and long-term impact.
Lead and scale content strategy and integrated campaigns across all channels, including social, search, email, online community, virtual events, courses, PR, and more, ensuring consistent storytelling and messaging.
Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing, results-driven sales and marketing team with a culture of rapid experimentation and iteration.
Oversee communications and PR efforts, driving earned media through relationships with media, influencers, and partners.
Leverage data from our tech platform and research team - e.g. candidate users, voter demographics, behavioral patterns - to become expert about our audiences and create segmentations and hyper-targeted campaigns to make people feel empowered.
Measure performance and ROI optimization by establishing OKRs and KPIs tied directly to our vision; and track everything with analytics and AI powered dashboards.
Report to the CEO.
Who we’re looking for:
You’re up for the audacious challenge of driving money out of politics and democratizing democracy.
You’re an amazing storyteller and brand builder at your core, with demonstrated ability to build an organic brand through product positioning, driving usage, and guerrilla marketing strategies.
You have proven senior leadership experience building brand narratives that inspire action among younger audiences, and scaling marketing at a national scale, ideally in a fast-paced tech startup, mission-driven environment, or other disruptive industries.
You build systems that test hypotheses, learn and iterate - quickly - and your bias is toward 10,000 iterations rather than 10,000 hours looking for inspiration.
You bring strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset, with a track record of using testing and insights to optimize performance.
You have experience marketing a tech product, and are hands-on with data, analytics, digital tools, SEO, social media, content platforms, user acquisition strategies - you use tech to market tech.
You’re talented at leading with strategic vision while overseeing tactical execution, always willing to roll up your sleeves when needed.
You’re a high-agency, collaborative leader who’s built and managed high-performing teams by setting the example of being creative and accountable to results.
Your bias is toward building organizational muscle, rather than defaulting to outsourcing to agencies and contractors.
You’re an exceptional communicator with the ability to craft compelling messaging and campaigns that connect emotionally, convert people down the funnel, and mobilize broad audiences.
You have a sharp editing eye for clear writing, engaging video content, and on-brand visuals. You know when something is off-brand and offer actionable feedback to marketers and designers to improve it.
You’re skilled at using AI tools for your work and coaching team members on how to leverage AI even more effectively while ensuring quality of their outputs.
You’re eager to help Independent and nonpartisan candidates from across the ideological spectrum get elected into office so they can serve their constituents.
You thrive working at the startup speed that our mission demands.
