Are you a mission-driven technologist eager to use your skills for real civic impact? Join GoodParty.org to build AI-powered tools that empower everyday people—not career politicians—to run for office and win. You’ll help scale a platform already transforming democracy from the ground up.

About GoodParty.org:

GoodParty.org is on a mission to make people matter more than money in our democracy by empowering independent candidates to run, win, and serve. Our AI-powered platform provides free tools to independent candidates to run their campaigns, connect with voters, and serve their communities effectively.

A majority of eligible voters, including more than half of Millennials and Gen Z, say that neither Republicans nor Democrats represent them. GoodParty.org is the solution. In 2024 we empowered 3,444 independent candidate wins across 48 states from all across the ideological spectrum. The only things our elected officials have in common is that they prioritize people over parties and community over corporate interests. In 2024, 40.3 million voters (26% of all voters) cast a ballot for our candidates. We’re not a political party, we’re a platform and a movement to democratize democracy.

Founded by serial entrepreneur Farhad Mohit ($1B+ in exits, including Flipagram/TikTok and Shopzilla), GoodParty.org is building solutions so we can have a truly representative democracy where society’s biggest problems are solved.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and develop intuitive, inclusive, and accessible tools that function seamlessly across desktop and mobile web platforms, empowering candidates and elected officials to take effective action.

  • Translate product requirements and designs into high-quality, working software for candidates on our web-based platform.

  • Integrate AI and LLM use cases, utilizing best practices in AI to enhance our product and support candidates in their campaigns.

  • Identify and maintain pixel-perfect, site-wide design standards to ensure a consistent and engaging user experience.

  • Collaborate with our lean, agile team working directly with product, design, and QA teams.

  • Report directly to the CTO, contributing to strategic decisions and the overall direction of our technology stack.

Who we’re looking for:

  • A passionate engineer ready to tackle the audacious challenge of re-coding our democracy for Good.

  • Strong JavaScript skills, with experience in React.js and knowledge of API best practices.

  • Excellent CSS/SCSS skills, capable of creating accurate, responsive designs.

  • Proven track record with 8+ years of relevant full-time work experience, ideally within a fast-paced 0-to-1 environment.

  • Active interest and experience in using AI, LLMs, and automation of tasks through AI.

  • Experience building design systems using component architecture.

  • Advanced technical and analytical skills to diagnose, isolate, and resolve problems.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a collaborative environment.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to iteratively solve problems in real-time.

Bonus if:

  • Experience with TypeScript, Next.js, Nest.js, or AWS.

  • Built or scaled design systems in prior roles.

  • Background in political tech, civic engagement, or organizing.
