Economy Our community is facing a cost of living crisis. More and more, the price of the basics we rely on, like food, energy, and housing, is rising ahead of wages and squeezing our pocketbooks. I will be laser-focused every day on making sure our residents can afford their lives and build a future for their families. Housing Whether you rent or own, folks in our area and across the state are dealing with a housing sector that is not working. We need to commit to a broad agenda to address the lack of affordable housing, barriers to homeownership and building equity in your home, skyrocketing home insurance and property tax rates. Building more units across the housing spectrum and ensuring folks at all ages and incomes are secure in their homes will be a top priority for me. Healthcare Everyone needs affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare but right now, we’re moving in the wrong direction. We know that when people delay or avoid care due to affordability, they end up needing more intensive and expensive interventions later on. We all bear this cost. I will work tirelessly to hold healthcare insurance companies and providers accountable to their duty to provide adequate care and ensure our residents’ health comes before corporate profits. Education Providing our children with a strong public education is a cornerstone to building prosperity. When we invest in our students, we’re not only providing youth with a solid foundation to pursue their own dreams and passions, we’re also empowering the next generation of Minnesota’s workforce to succeed in an everchanging world.
