Environment / Energy Oakland County needs to be held accountable and join Macomb County in the effort to preserve one of Michigan's best assets: Lake St. Clair. Criminal Justice / Public Safety The open boarder is allowing illegal immigrants and drugs like fentanyl to continue to pour across our border. You deserve to be safe in your home, your family deserves to be safe in your neighborhood and your kids deserve to be safe in school. I support law enforcement, enforcing the law, and securing our border. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Officer recruitment and retention is today's biggest issue for our local and state law enforcement agencies. I will always support our men and women in blue to ensure they have the resources to keep our communities safe. Guns I am unapologetically Pro Second Amendment and will always oppose legislation that would infringe on law-abiding gun owners. Give the government an inch and they will take a mile. Education The skilled trades need more recognition and there needs to be more emphasis on hands-on education in our schools. Healthcare More attention needs to be given when it comes to mental illness, especially with our youth. In April 2022, we had a situation here in Harrison Township where a young man threatened to harm two teenagers in a parking lot. The 23 year old escaped from a behavioral center in Michigan and was re-captured a couple of days later. The lack of mental health resources in Michigan is a problem that we need to address. Government Reform Lansing took away the power from the local government under the guise of green energy, dictating how we live and grow. We need affordable and reliable energy, not mandates that don't serve our community best.
