Education I oppose teaching materials that divide by race and denigrate any race. Critical Race Theory is a divisive ideology that should not be used in the curriculum or to train teachers. Drug Policy I support drug rehabilitation programs that have been shown to work, as well as much-needed mental health assistance. Housing New high density housing along corridors like El Camino Real is making traffic impossible. I will work for innovative solutions, not only for new housing suitable to our neighborhoods, but also for opening more land surrounding the Bay Area to development while maintaining watershed and spaces for wildlife. Housing The majority of homeless people suffer from drug addiction.  I will work for removal of homeless encampments coupled with workable housing and rehabilitation solutions such as Navigation Centers and non-governmental twelve-step centers. Environment / Energy Past regulations secured the clean air and water we enjoy today but any incremental reduction in carbon we might achieve now through billions in outlays and subsidies will achieve little.  I will work to maintain California’s environment while cutting wasteful spending and subsidies. Education Protect at-risk students without indoctrinating our children, hiding gender decisions from parents, and criminalizing loving parents who protest.  I will work to roll back offensive legislation and ensure transparency in education. Criminal Justice / Public Safety We need stricter laws that are consistently enforced. Economy I support prosperity for everyone. California has bountiful human and natural resources. We could employ everyone and produce enough wealth to finance social programs without the deficits that are contributing to inflation, but high taxes and excessive regulation stand in the way. Civil Rights If the form of government established by our Constitution is to survive in California, we must require voter identification, outlaw ballot harvesting, and encourage in-person voting. Education I support constructive Ethnic Studies, but they must have safeguards to prevent groups with political agendas from hijacking them. Legislation I oppose ACA 1 and all other attempts to water down Proposition 13 because they would result in high taxes that will drive seniors from their homes. Education I oppose “social promotion” that has graduated many students without the skills needed to succeed. Instead, hard-work and merit should be rewarded. I will work to support education that promotes competency in basics and success after graduation.
