Taxes / Budget Times our tough. I will work with the council to create a committee centered around affordability. This committee will explore differents ways we can reduce taxes and fees in the City. Economy Building up Covina’s economy with good-paying jobs will allow our residents to live in the community they serve. I will fight for community workforce agreements and securing local hiring requirements for our community. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Covina Police Department is tasked with serving and protecting our community. As a councilmember, I will work with the department to ensure they are supported to do this work. Additionally, I will work with our department to increase community involvement, especially with meaningful outreach to marginalized communities within our city. Infrastructure / Transportation Every resident should feel proud to call Covina home. I’m committed to maintaining and elevating our streets, our lighting, and the character of our community. Ensuring our city shines with the quality and care our residents deserve. Arts / Culture Our Parks and Recreation Department plays a vital role in making Covina the great community it is. I will prioritize and expand this department to create more community programs and opportunities, especially for our youth and seniors. Additionally, I will monitor and maintain key oversight on the building of the new library and recreation center.
