Infrastructure / Transportation It’s time to put the 150 vacant land bank lots in the 8th District to work. Leveraging the new land bank policy and economic development incentives, we’ll streamline processes to encourage development and collaborate with private property owners to transform underutilized land into housing, businesses, and community spaces—no more letting empty lots hold our neighborhoods back. Taxes / Budget As property value continues to rise, I will continue to advocate for responsible reductions in the property city/county property tax rate to provide relief while keeping city services in mind. I will use this same approach for the BPU Pilot. Housing Support the Community Benefit Ordinance’s KCK Homes for Generations program (launching 2026) to prevent displacement and assist families in keeping home ownership in their possession. Taxes / Budget Create Legislation that require the Unified Government (UG) to prioritize contracts with local, minority-owned, and women-owned businesses—ensuring our tax dollars reinvest in our community’s growth. Infrastructure / Transportation Potholes and crumbling curbs shouldn’t be the norm. We need innovative funding solutions—like sales tax revenue, state/federal grants, and public-private partnerships—to repair infrastructure without relying solely on property tax hikes. Social Services I will champion investments in KCKPD animal services to transform community safety and pet ownership.
