Criminal Justice / Public Safety The safety of our families and neighborhoods is paramount. I am a staunch advocate for our exceptional first responders. We must ensure our Police and Fire Departments have the resources, training facilities, and the technology they need to keep our community secure. This means supporting competitive compensation and programs like the Mobile Integrated Health Unit which received the Texas Municipal League Excellence Award for Public Safety. Taxes / Budget We must maintain a sharp, disciplined focus on how tax dollars are spent. My approach is to ensure fiscal responsibility and efficiency in all city operations. This means prioritizing essential services, minimizing waste, and working to keep the tax burden low for our residents and businesses while still delivering a high level of service. In my first term the Tax rate has been reduced or remained flat and is currently 9 cents lower than the average of our surrounding benchmark cities. Infrastructure / Transportation Our rapid growth demands a constant commitment to improving and expanding our core infrastructure. This includes smart, strategic investments in roads and traffic management to address congestion and improve connectivity. I am proud of the work we have done on the Pedestrian and Bike Network Plan, intersection Improvements, timed signals and numerous road projects.
