Housing Ashit supports expanding workforce and senior housing in a way that respects neighborhood character, avoids congestion, and protects our infrastructure. Infrastructure / Transportation Ashit believes infrastructure should come first. He will prioritize investment in roads, intersections, and traffic management tools that address current congestion and prepare the town for future growth. Infrastructure / Transportation This includes supporting key projects like the widening of Highway 54, the extension of Airport Boulevard, and improvements to high-traffic intersections. Housing Ashit will also explore partnerships with Wake County, regional housing agencies, and local nonprofits to increase access to affordable housing options, whether through homeownership support, rental assistance, or creative community-led solutions. Infrastructure / Transportation Ashit supports expanding pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure and improving transit options like the Smart Shuttle. He believes residents deserve safe, walkable neighborhoods and real alternatives to driving. Infrastructure / Transportation He will also push for better coordination between the Town, NCDOT, and developers to ensure traffic impacts are thoroughly evaluated and addressed before any new project is approved. Environment / Energy Ashit believes sustainable development must guide every decision the town makes. This approach ensures clean air, shaded greenways, and public spaces that support both health and community connection. Housing He will advocate for identifying town-owned parcels that could support small-scale, income-targeted housing for both working families and seniors. Environment / Energy As a council member, he will be a strong advocate for strengthening the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) to increase tree canopy retention and setbacks for new development, and explore more opportunities for solar energy, both on municipal rooftops and in residential areas. Environment / Energy Ashit will ensure that Morrisville’s growth never comes at the expense of the environment, but instead enhances the natural spaces that make our town special.
