Education Ben believes that a good education is the birthright of every child. He will work to fully fund our public schools, ensure that school buildings are safe and comfortable, and work to recruit and keep qualified teachers. Economy Whether housing, a new car, or a trip to the grocery store, costs are unsustainably high. Ben will fight to bring down costs for working people and bring creative solutions to bear on reducing prices. State government can and should work to make life more affordable for everyday people. Wages / Job Benefits Every person should have the right to live, work, and retire in dignity. People shouldn’t have to work two, three jobs just to barely get by. Ben believes every worker should have the right to organize and advocate for improvements in their workplace. He will fight to repeal unfair labor laws and increase the minimum wage. Environment / Energy Ben grew up fishing, hiking, and camping with his dad. As an Eagle Scout and an avid outdoorsman, he will protect Wisconsin’s parks, lakes, rivers, and campgrounds for future generations. Ben will protect Wisconsin’s natural beauty and will fight to make sure future generations have access to it. Healthcare Healthcare is too expensive for too many people. Ben will fight to bring down healthcare costs and expand healthcare access. He will protect rural hospitals and fight for expanded public access to healthcare. No person should go bankrupt because they get sick, Ben believes in making a healthcare system that works for everyone. Taxes / Budget The state government has imposed unnecessary restraints on local governments while cutting state-wide education funding, forcing school districts and municipalities to raise taxes. Ben will fight to unshackle local governments and restore funding to education, allowing local governments to bring down property taxes.
