Continued investment in staffing, training, equipment, and facilities is essential so they can maintain the high level of service that residents expect as our city continues to grow. Police officers, firefighters, and medics often carry heavy emotional burdens from what they see on the job. We need to ensure they have access to mental health resources that are designed for the unique challenges they face. It is also important to create a culture where reaching out for help is encouraged and never carries a stigma.
