Criminal Justice / Public Safety Keeping the public safe is an area in which I am well versed. I have seen many people in need of specific services (whether it be for mental health, drug addiction, counseling, family support, etc.) who can’t access the type of help they require. Communication between law enforcement and members of the justice system must continually occur to address the ever changing landscape of crime, incarceration and access to services. We also need to study examples in other communities and states to see what is and what is not working well. Infrastructure / Transportation Bring jobs, development, broadband and housing choices. Infrastructure / Transportation Improve road/bridge infrastructure and traffic flow. Economy Hancock County is in a prime location within our state. It is close to a major metropolitan city and international airport. It has reasonable housing costs, great schools, and a community of awesome people. We need to make sure, however, that we have long term plans in place, so that growth can occur in an efficient manner. We also need to work closely with businesses (new and existing) for quality jobs. All units of government in our region need to be part of the dialogue for how we move forward together for a promising future. Arts / Culture Promote the arts and cultural experiences. Social Services Offer programs to people in need of services; and Make Hancock County a quality place to live, work and play.
