Fun Fact

I love to play golf in Syracuse.

Past Experience

For the past eighteen years I have resided with my family in Syracuse. We have lived in 3 different residences in the city and are grateful to call Syracuse home. Each of my children has attended Syracuse schools. In the past, we have had children attending Syracuse Elementary, Syracuse Junior High, and Syracuse High during the same year. I care deeply about this community. I love the people and this area. During recent years I have been active in local affairs, including serving 4 years on the Planning Commission (3 terms as Chairman) and I also worked with the Syracuse Elementary Community Council. Most recently, I was elected to be a member of the City Council where I have served for twenty months. These experiences have allowed me to meet with citizens, landowners, business owners, and city staff regarding the challenging matters that impact our city. I have been able to lead public meetings that wrestled with these issues. I understand the need to carefully listen to and evaluate the viewpoints of all involved when reaching conclusions that touch our citizens. As an attorney, I have spent the past twenty-five years carefully assessing and working to resolve my clients’ legal challenges. These issues often involve high emotion and divisive viewpoints. Solving these problems generally requires moderation, sensitivity and cooperation. The analytical experience and training I have obtained translates well to the decision-making process in the City Council setting. As a resident, I share the concerns regarding the issues in Syracuse. I am committed to serving the best interests of the community and ensuring the City Council provides the best results possible. I am hopeful my family will be a part of the Syracuse community for many years to come. This community has provided us with good friends and neighbors, places to worship, sports and recreation for my children, good schools, safety, and peace. It has provided me a place to coach my boys' sports teams and a location for me to play golf on occasion. Almost everything we need is just a few minutes from my front door. We have a bright future in Syracuse. To be successful, we need to have balanced business and residential growth, good fiscal policy, and compromise. My experience with our citizens, city staff, and elected officials has shaped my belief that we have excellent people who are committed to the well-being of our community. I believe I can help the good progress that has already been made to continue. Please contact me with your questions about my viewpoints or candidacy. I welcome the opportunity to earn your vote.
