Healthcare In our post-COVID world, it’s vital that we enact ordinances to protect the inalienable God given rights of our county’s citizens from any attempt to force or coerce the use of medical devices, treatments or testing. Brian has previously accepted the personal risk of standing for medical freedom and he will continue to defend the rights of the people. Infrastructure / Transportation Brian has advocated at numerous county meetings for our county’s comprehensive plan and zoning ordinances to be improved so that we are truly protecting private property rights and the character of our rural communities. Defending our rural communities from the pressure of excessive growth requires a well planned and thoughtfully executed strategy to reduce the impact on our natural resources and the quality of life for our fellow citizens. Brian believes that a key principle when addressing private property rights is that we do no harm to our neighbors. Government Reform Brian will draw on his professional leadership experience to encourage a “we” instead of “me” mindset between county offices and departments to reduce wasteful redundancies, improve collaboration, and increase accountability. Government Reform Brian will actively promote an open dialog with the public to gain knowledge, share mutual understanding, and build trust. Brian believes the voice of the public is an integral part of the business of our county. Government Reform Brian will advocate amending county ordinances to limit Board of County Commissioners special meetings for truly time sensitive and emergency situations, since holding meetings outside of the regular business meetings limits the public’s awareness and input. Taxes / Budget One of Brian’s goals is to limit county spending to essential services, while also tracking financial performance to encourage a high return on investment for the county’s use of every tax dollar.
