Taxes / Budget I support meaningful property tax relief through a combination of spending discipline at the state level, caps on annual assessment increases, and targeted exemptions for seniors and veterans. I will work to shift more of the burden for school funding away from local property taxes and toward sustainable state revenue sources. Abortion / Contraception I will always put the protection of innocent life and the rights of parents and families above the wishes of out-of-state activists and special interests. Government Reform As your State Senator, I will be a fighter for Pierre—and never allow the capitol to be moved out of our community. And not just that, I will fight to bring state government jobs back to Pierre from Sioux Falls. Abortion / Contraception Here in South Dakota, we cherish the sanctity of human life and refuse to abandon the values of faith, family and freedom that built our state. I’m a father of three, and I believe we have a duty to hand our kids a world that is better than we found it. I will push for legislation that protects the unborn, supports adoption and foster care, defends parental rights in schools, and strengthens families through policies that prioritize marriage and the nuclear family. Environment / Energy I was proud to oppose RL21, and I will be a champion of legislation that protects landowners from eminent domain abuse by private developers and out-of-state corporations. As your State Senator, I will always be a friend to our landowners and family farmers. Economy I will pursue policies that benefit current and future small business owners and allow for responsible economic growth and development. Above all, I will fight to bring state government jobs back to Pierre, many of which have been relocated to Sioux Falls or Rapid City. The economic boom this would create would be the biggest win for our district that I can imagine. Guns No right is more fundamental to that oath than the right to keep and bear arms. In South Dakota, a tradition of responsible gun ownership has endured for generations — I will protect the Second Amendment rights of our law-abiding citizens, oppose red-flag laws and any attempts to erode our rights to defend ourselves, our families, and our property. Education By empowering families with more options, we can raise academic outcomes, reduce pressure on overcrowded classrooms, and ensure that no child in our district is left behind simply because of where they live or their family’s income. Education Every child in District 24 deserves access to a quality learning environment that fits their needs, whether that’s the public schools in Pierre, a smaller rural school district, or alternative options like homeschooling or private schooling.
