Government Reform Upon my election, I will immediately call on the Oregon Legislature to address ongoing violations of Indigenous treaties and state-tribal agreements. I will invite representatives from Oregon’s Tribal nations to collaborate in forming a task force dedicated to investigating these violations and holding accountable any officials or agencies found guilty of breaches. Social Services Preventing homelessness before it occurs is crucial to addressing this crisis. Therefore, I propose to provide resources and support to individuals and families at risk of homelessness, such as job training, financial assistance, and mental health services. Education A dedicated mental health professional in every school. Legislation I will sign an executive order reaffirming and protecting the rights of individuals to freely express their gender identity and self-expression under the umbrella of freedom of speech. Immigration As Governor, I will also strengthen Oregon’s sanctuary laws, not weaken them. That means making sure our state and local agencies are not being used to help violate people’s rights. It means investigating any agency, including our police force, that crosses that line, ending cooperation when federal agencies break Oregon law, and requiring public accountability for any interaction with ICE. Government Reform I recognize the detrimental impact of restrictive regulations on infrastructure development within treaty lands. To promote economic prosperity and sovereignty for Indigenous nations, I will utilize executive authority to remove unnecessary barriers to infrastructure development on these lands by First Nations. Education Hiring more teachers and classified staff. Education Restoring electives, arts, music, and creative programs that have been cut from classrooms. These programs improve engagement, graduation rates, and critical thinking skills. Taxes / Budget Her approach focuses on ensuring large corporations pay their fair share, while protecting individuals and families living at or below the poverty level from additional tax burdens. Wages / Job Benefits Jones supports a system where living wage standards are determined based on the cost of living within specific regions, such as towns, counties, or districts, taking into account population density and local economic conditions. This approach would allow wages to better reflect the actual costs faced by workers in different parts of the state. Economy Her approach focuses on supporting small businesses, investing in local job creation, and ensuring that state policies help communities thrive rather than leaving them behind. Healthcare Under the executive order, federal agencies will be pressured to expand healthcare coverage for transgender individuals, ensuring access to gender-affirming procedures, hormone therapy, mental health services, and other medically necessary treatments. Housing The lack of affordable housing is one of the main causes of homelessness. Therefore, I will work to increase the availability of affordable housing by investing in the rehabilitation of old condemned and abandoned properties for housing units at an extremely affordable rate as a path to home ownership, not rental properties. Education Lowering class sizes statewide. Infrastructure / Transportation Jones believes Oregon can follow a similar approach by expanding rail corridors and regional bus routes that connect major cities, smaller towns, and rural communities. Increased ridership would not only improve mobility but also create sustainable transportation funding that helps maintain highways, rail lines, and public transit. Housing Brittany Jones believes Oregon must also address a problem hiding in plain sight: abandoned and neglected homes sitting empty in neighborhoods across the state. These properties often become safety hazards, attract crime, and drag down the economic vitality of surrounding communities. Jones’ housing plan focuses on refurbishing and restoring existing homes that have been abandoned or fallen into disrepair. Housing Homelessness is often caused by underlying issues such as mental illness, addiction, and domestic violence. Therefore, I will work to increase funding for supportive services, such as mental health and addiction treatment, domestic violence shelters, and job training programs.
