My Top Issues
Arts / Culture
The Lakewood community has always been attractive to creatives, with hundreds of artists, crafters, and makers calling the city home. We should, as a community, do a better job of celebrating our creativity, making it a part of our identity, increasing public art projects and opportunities throughout the city, and fostering a nurturing and supportive environment for all our creative residents.
Infrastructure / Transportation
Bryan strongly believes we must work together, as policy-makers and citizens, to change our transportation culture from driver-centric to one that balances the needs of all people. Paths, roads, streets, and sidewalks should be safe for everyone, no matter how you decide to get where you’re going.
Housing
We must provide housing options that both attract new residents, while retaining our existing population with a variety of housing options for differing age and socioeconomic classes.
Housing
To maintain healthy and safe housing, Bryan believes in targeted code enforcement to maintain safe residential properties. City hall must also play a critical role connecting residents to resources that exist to keep them in their homes.
Infrastructure / Transportation
Legislatively, he is focused on deploying complete streets strategies city-wide, as well as upgrading pedestrian crossing infrastructure and management.
Housing
Revamping our code will allow us to more rapidly and effectively deploy auxiliary dwelling units (ADUs) and other one-floor living options. We also need to fight to ensure the inclusion of affordable units in development projects.
