Housing We must prioritize efforts to allocate resources to those who will accept it. Infrastructure / Transportation Address congestion and planned growth with a multiple bridge approach. Infrastructure / Transportation Work with the City of Vancouver on planned annexation of land so the County has net zero costs associated with growth and infrastructure transfers. Economy Support our diverse small business community, the backbone of our economy and heart of our culture. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Work with the Clark County Sheriffs Office and the Vancouver Police Department on resource allocation to keep public safety top of mind. Environment / Energy Protect rural and agricultural land and local farms where appropriate. Country living is highly desirable to many, Clark County should maintain zoned places for it. Government Reform Reduce permit fees and wait times by consolidating or eliminating duplicate permit paths. Environment / Energy Advocate for professions in skilled trades. Economy Apply wise economic strategy and stop treating our small businesses and private property like ATM machines. Infrastructure / Transportation Promote full transparency in IBR costs, highlighting who will bear the costs and give responsible parties a proper representation in the conversation. Housing Prioritize the runaway costs of building affordable housing by addressing excessive fees and land use issues. Housing Confront the unsuccessful strategy of housing first and harm reduction with an increased focus on treatment and accountability to help struggling people heal. Taxes / Budget Reduce the high impact of taxes on vulnerable populations and fixed income households to make Clark County affordable for future generations. Taxes / Budget “Tax Last” approach. Tax increases are too often a short sighted strategy and have become a financial burden on our community. We must address out of control spending.
