Healthcare Mental health affects us all, and resources for it are lacking in every community. In order to normalize those struggling with their mental health, we need to recognize that mental health wellness is part of healthcare. We must provide our community with more mental healthcare resources, especially for our children and adolescents. Providing early access to mental health support and intervention can help shift this paradigm from reactive in adulthood to proactive in childhood. Education I will continue to defend our public schools, teachers, administration and most importantly, students. We need to stop the false culture war that has been started by many in politics to score points within the media and fire up a base that is uninterested in putting the work into showing up. We need to encourage parents to be involved in the schools. Infrastructure / Transportation While growth in any given community can be a great thing, we need to have the infrastructure and resources to support said growth. Infrastructure and resources such as affordable housing, roadways, water, schools, and public transportation are already scarce in our community, and we need to ensure that we drive responsible growth. Abortion / Contraception While we are fortunate to live in a state that values women's healthcare and reproductive rights, we must continue our vigilance in maintaining that a woman’s choice over her body and reproductive health is hers alone. Women’s medical decisions should only ever include her partner and doctor, and only after she has made her decision known. Government should not be dictating control over any woman's body.
