Education Charles will have the State Auditor's office perform audits on every county school district. Every year more and more money goes into schools, yet the money does not seem to get to those who need it, namely our teachers and our students. Infrastructure / Transportation The NCDOT has a budget of over 5 billion dollars, yet from the mountains to the coast we see more traffic cones than potholes being filled. Charles will work to uncover what is going on at these governments agencies to ensure your money is not being wasted. Taxes / Budget Charles will conduct full audits of the lottery program to account for where the money is going. Taxes / Budget As your State Auditor, Charles will set the vision for the NC State Auditor's Office.  His vision is simple: to provide transparency and accountability for taxpayer money at all levels of government in North Carolina. Civil Rights We need to have safe and secure elections. As State Auditor Charles will conduct audits of the processes and procedures occurring at the state and county board of elections offices.
