Fun Fact
As a Navy Lieutenant, I navigated multi-billion dollar warships through contested international waters, working alongside people from all walks of life. I will bring that same discipline, teamwork, and focus to the City Council—especially now, when unity and direction are most needed.
Past Experience
I am a Navy veteran and former educator of Morehouse College and I strongly support veterans, education, and the citizens of Jonesboro. As a Lieutenant in the Navy, I have driven multi-billion dollar ships in contested international waters while collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I am deeply concerned about the current division and lack of teamwork on the City Council, which has led to taxpayer dollars being spent on a frivolous audit—an unfortunate and costly waste. I moved to Jonesboro and purchased a home four years ago, drawn by the affordable housing, low crime rate, and strong sense of community. I sit on the Board of Ethics for the City of Jonesboro and I love Jonesboro and believe the community is progressing—but that progress can only continue through unity. I emphasize that every senior, child, parent, and professional plays a role in shaping the city’s future. With a seat on the council, I pledge to ensure residents' needs are met and that their voices are heard. As Atlanta prepares for a projected 200% expansion over the next 15-20 years, I believe Jonesboro must be ready to face this challenge head-on with fresh ideas and innovative solutions. Together, I believe we can advance Jonesboro. I am running for the Jonesboro City Council this November.
My Top Issues
Enhancing Benefits and Services
As a Navy veteran, I understand the challenges that many of our service members face when transitioning back into civilian life. I’ll work to connect veterans with city programs, mental health resources, job opportunities, and housing support—ensuring no one is left behind after serving.
Addressing aging infrastructure in residential areas
Our roads, parks, and public spaces need attention. I’ll prioritize smart investments to maintain and modernize our city.
Encouraging energy efficiency and conservation initiatives
I will lead efforts to bring more sustainable solutions to our city—like expanding green spaces, improving stormwater infrastructure, promoting tree planting, and exploring clean energy options for city operations. Environmental progress is not just good for our health—it’s good for our future economy.
