Infrastructure / Transportation I also support a reasonable approach to ADUs in which homeowners are able to develop single-story units that do not impact the quality of the surrounding neighborhoods. Social Services But true progress will require leadership that sets clear priorities and follows through. That means tracking measurable outcomes—like the number of encampments cleared, the availability of shelter beds, and the success of treatment programs—so the public can see results. It also means making sure city resources are used efficiently, with transparency and accountability to taxpayers. Social Services The City Council took an important first step to addressing this issue by passing the local encampment ban—however the work continues to enforce the ban, clear illegal encampments, and ensure that impacted individuals have resources available to them, including shelter space. Infrastructure / Transportation I will be a strong advocate for investing in our roads, parks, and community amenities with a focus on long-term planning to ensure their maintenance not just in the short-term, but for generations to come. Infrastructure / Transportation Beyond visibility improvements, I am committed to broader road and traffic safety measures that address the daily realities our residents face. This includes upgrading crosswalks near schools, expanding traffic calming measures in residential neighborhoods, strategic use of technology such as traffic cameras, and ensuring better signage on high-traffic roads. Criminal Justice / Public Safety I support providing adequate pay and benefits to our first responders so that they receive the compensation they deserve and our community remains competitive in recruitment and retention. Having qualified, high-quality local police officers and fire fighters is the most important part of maintaining local public safety. Infrastructure / Transportation As our community expands with new housing opportunities, we must also focus on creating whole communities with access to the resources needed on a daily basis. For example, we need to attract another grocery store to Eastlake to meet neighborhood demand and prevent residents from having to travel to other parts of our city for daily essentials. Infrastructure / Transportation I support the implementation of a rapid electronic building permit system in which the assessment of building permit applications are streamlined under a unified system. We should be maximizing the use of technology to ease burdens to new home construction.
