Education Emotional and mental health professionals should be available for every single school to support all students' needs. Education We must be proactive in our approach to school safety.  Ongoing assessments and conversations with local law enforcement and school-based officers are imperative to protecting students. We need to practice drills often, train everyone, and communicate expectations daily. Education Students and teachers deserve more than a salary increase that barely matches the rate of inflation.  We need a true and competitive pay structure so that experienced educators no longer have to make financial sacrifices to support our students, and teachers can afford to keep teaching. Education We need to make the teacher profession more attractive.  We cannot recruit when the UNC system  has seen a drop in college enrollment in the field of education.
