Economy Revitalize our business districts by making City Hall an easy place to do business with and eliminate any unnecessary red tape that discourages businesses from opening here or relocating to Cleveland Heights. Economy Collaborate with our new Mayor to restore our residents’ confidence in their government and rebuild the City’s reputation for excellence and for being a great place to live, shop, dine or work. Social Services Continue to fund programs that help seniors and lower income residents with housing code violation repairs to their homes to help maintain healthy neighborhoods and our housing stock. Criminal Justice / Public Safety Make sure that our Police and Fire Departments continue to have the resources and equipment needed to maintain the high level and quality of services currently being provided to the residents. Economy Promote economic development and population growth to increase our income tax base by making Cleveland Heights the first choice to live, shop and play particularly for the thousands of employees who work at the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, Veterans Administration, Case Western Reserve, and the University Circle institutions like the museums and the Cleveland Orchestra. This has to be a priority because the majority of the City’s funding comes from the income tax paid by residents and employees of the businesses located within our City. Taxes / Budget Make sure that we continue to exercise fiscal responsibility by not authorizing any expenditures beyond our income. Housing Maintain our housing stock by diligent code enforcement and holding absentee landlords accountable for the condition of their property and disruptive tenants that harm the neighborhood.
