Fun Fact
I live with my husband and our rescue pets - our two dogs, Penelope and Buffy, and our three cats - Tails, Munchkin, and Mr. Skibbs.
I have enjoyed volunteering with groups such as Teach 4 Life, the Red Cross Disaster Action Team, and Pet Adoption Alternatives of Warren. I'm a big book nerd with a small library in one spare room and a puzzle room set up in another. Music is a passion of mine, so you may catch me jamming in my car around the city. Bear with my dance moves or feel free to join me at the red light. I can speak (intermediate -level) Spanish and I'm currently learning ASL for fun!
Past Experience
I should probably start by telling you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Fraser. I was quite active in my high school “career”, having been involved in a plethora of extracurriculars. I enjoyed everything from performing in the theatre productions to swimming and diving, from National Honor Society to Fraser Singers, from Link Crew to track and field. All the while, I kept my academics up and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a full ride academic scholarship.to Wayne State University. All this to say, I'm used to staying active and enjoy a challenge. Even more so, I so very much enjoyed and appreciate what our public schools are capable of and the importance of quality education and extracurriculars.
I moved out of Fraser while renting as an adult but, when it came time to buy a home, my husband and I both agreed that this city is a community we would like to be a part of. There's been something about the small town feel of this city that has always drawn me in, and I hope I can do our city justice by serving it.
I graduated from Wayne State University with a BS of Psychology. I began working in the ophthalmic field in 2013 and have attained knowledge within the field over the years, starting as a medical scribe. For the past 6 years, I've been the Corneal Crosslinking and Refractive Services Coordinator with Fraser Eye Care/Michigan Outpatient Surgery Center. Long story short…I'm an ophthalmic/laser technician that deals in a number of eye lasers, amongst a variety of other tasks. I thoroughly enjoy my job and that I can also serve my community through my employment as well!
My mom was a Hanover Grove Cooperative resident for 49 years until her death this year. She was always SO proud to live in the city of Fraser. I had mentioned possibly running shortly before she passed. Her reaction was “I don't know. I don't want anyone to be mean to my baby. But I know you'll do great. You do great at anything you do.” Always looking out for my feelings. I hope I can make her proud by representing our city and uplifting our community.
Thank you so much for the support.
My Top Issues
Creating pet-friendly public spaces and amenities
There's open space owned by the city next to Meijer that I would like to see utilized as a dog park. There are plenty of folks that utilize the the normal parks for their dogs, so I think it would be a great opportunity to have a dog-focused park as well. We could discuss requiring registration and a key card to ensure vaccination (just an option that Clinton Twp utilizes).
Addressing aging infrastructure in residential areas
Electrical and plumbing infrastructure is awful in Fraser. We all know it. I'd posit to guess a large part of many of our “sewage fees” are related to run off from rain considering we live in a “marshy” area. If we can find a way to improve our plumbing structure I think that may help with the water bills. Now when it comes to the electric…DTE needs to get it together and I hope to find some way to pressure them in to action.
New business grants
I'd really like to incentivize businesses to check us out and get a social district of sorts started, at least part-time on the weekends!

Arts / Culture
I'd really like to incentivize businesses to become part of the community so we can get a social district of sorts started, at least part-time on the weekends! I have a number of ideas floating around and I think we can get something started to add on to the great activities being brought in to the city currently!
Environment / Energy
I know that Priority Waste pickup has been an ongoing issue in the community and, rightly, upsetting for many residents. I would like to lead the community in making Priority Waste address this and hold themselves responsible. I would also like to review our future options given the contract renewal.
