Government Reform A strong commitment to local control means putting decision-making power where it belongs closest to the people it impacts. It ensures that the unique needs, values, and priorities of our community guide policies and outcomes rather than one-size-fits-all mandates from state or federal levels. Taxes / Budget Dallas Schroeder believes in fiscally conservative budgeting that protects taxpayers and keeps county finances strong and stable. That means living within our means, prioritizing essential services, and planning ahead so families are not hit with unnecessary debt or surprise tax increases. Infrastructure / Transportation It also means thoughtful land use planning that supports balanced growth, protects the character of our community, and ensures infrastructure can keep up with development. And most importantly, it’s about planning ahead for the essentials we all rely on every day roads, public safety, water, and emergency services so we are never caught unprepared as our community grows. Infrastructure / Transportation At the same time, growth should never erase what makes a community special. Protecting community character means thoughtful planning that respects neighborhoods, rural areas, traffic flow, schools, and infrastructure limits. Economy Sustainable economic growth means building a strong local economy that lasts long term, not just short term development that comes and goes. It’s about attracting and supporting businesses that create stable jobs, invest locally, and contribute fairly to the tax base so the burden doesn’t fall only on homeowners. Taxes / Budget Practical, experienced leadership in budgeting, land use, and long-term planning for essential services is about making smart, responsible decisions that keep our community strong today and prepared for tomorrow. It means carefully managing taxpayer dollars so they are spent wisely, transparently, and efficiently while still meeting real community needs.
