Environment / Energy Climate change affects every aspect of our lives, especially in Southern Arizona. From the economy to social justice to public health. We are already experiencing the effects of climate change, with Central and Southern Arizona’s main sources of water becoming increasingly threatened each year, and national parks and monuments, including our Grand Canyon and AZ-07’s very own Saguaro National Park, are being threatened by Donald Trump’s reckless policies. In Congress, I will fight for investments in renewable energy development and water conservation technology to combat this crisis while creating good-paying, union jobs. Economy In Congress, I will continue that work by bringing good paying jobs to Arizona. One such example is the Bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act. This law specifically has invested in new jobs in Arizona for chip technology manufacturing which is vital for our country’s national security. In Congress, I will defend the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act from Donald Trump and MAGA extremists who are working to rollback this legislation, endangering jobs for thousands of Arizonans. Wages / Job Benefits In Congress, I’ll support ending so-called “right to work” which reduces the effectiveness of collective bargaining and work to pass the bipartisan PRO Act, which will protect our union workers and stop unfair labor practices. I’ll also fight for enhanced worker protections and ensure Trump lifts the pause on rulemaking abilities for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which protects Arizona workers from extreme heat and unsafe conditions. Taxes / Budget DOGE is providing the exact opposite of efficiency; instead, Musk and his team of hackers and leakers are firing thousands of federal employees (including thousands of veterans) and cutting critical funding for programs like Head Start, public health initiatives, national parks, research at the University of Arizona, and so many things that Arizonans rely on. In Congress, I will hold Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and DOGE accountable and stop their attacks on our Arizona way of life. Taxes / Budget In Congress, I’ll stand up to the out-of-touch politicians in DC and finally take action to benefit our working families. That includes lowering taxes for working class & middle-class families (not Donald Trump’s billionaire friends), repealing Trump’s tariffs on everyday goods, increasing the child tax credit, and investing in affordable housing. Healthcare In Congress, I will champion policies that combat discrimination, protect transgender rights, and ensure access to healthcare and social services for LGBTQ+ people. I will always protect folks with HIV from discrimination at work, school, and in public spaces, and I’ll continue to fight for gender-affirming care and a federal ban on conversion therapy. Healthcare The Biden Harris Administration and Congressional Democrats were able to pass legislation lowering the cost of prescription drugs by reinforcing legislation to cap the cost of insulin and allow Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices. Now, Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans are bowing down to the pharmaceutical companies threatening to rollback this progress. When elected, I will fight MAGA Republicans in Congress to ensure these advancements are protected for everyday people that rely on this medical care. Education We need to invest in our public schools and empower parents and teachers to help our students succeed. In Congress, I’ll stand up to Donald Trump’s anti-education rampage and ensure our schools continue to receive federal funding, especially our Title I schools. Guns In Congress, I’ll work to close the gun show loophole, pass red flag laws, and ensure we’re doing everything possible to keep guns out of the hands of those who pose a danger to themselves or others. Civil Rights We need federal action like the John Lewis Voting Rights Act to safeguard our elections, ensure vote-by-mail remains accessible, and stop the targeted disenfranchisement of communities of color. Nothing is more sacred or more important in the fight to defend our democracy than the right to vote, and I will continue to work to make voting more accessible for all Arizonans. Abortion / Contraception The stakes in this election couldn’t be clearer: we are fighting a Republican majority in Congress hellbent on restricting access to abortion and robbing women of their rights. We must fight back to keep politicians out of our personal health care decisions. Immigration I have seen the hardships and delays in our legal immigration system, and I will work to pass comprehensive immigration reform immediately. I strongly support providing a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, adding more immigration judges to solve the backlog in cases, funding more innovative technology for border security, and ensuring our ports of entry are equipped to reduce fentanyl and other drug trafficking to keep families and kids safe.
